Nepal’s climate is directly influenced by continental factors (Himalayas) and its proximity to the Bay of Bengal. As a result, the country experiences four distinct seasons – perfect for treks with Aurora Expeditions during the spring and summer.

During spring (March and May), Nepal is quite warm – averaging around 22 degrees Celsius. This is thanks to the Himalayas, which block cold winds from Central Asia. In summer, temperatures can reach 30 degrees Celsius, but this is also regarded as monsoon season where heat waves can cause sudden downpours.

It’s important to note Nepal’s five climatic zones that relate to altitude. As you increase your altitude from Kathmandu up to the Everest Base Camp, for example, you’ll experience cooler temperatures and stronger winds. Your guides will be aware of these changes and ensure you have the right gear for the conditions.
