While on board, the ship is your base camp in the most incredible environments on earth. Make yourself comfortable, this floating home is yours to enjoy!
Our purpose-built small ships are designed to put people in connection with the environment, there are plenty of places to spot birds, watch wildlife or just take in the wild landscapes.
Multiple viewpoints around the ship
As you explore our ships you will find indoor lounge areas with floor-to ceiling windows and panoramic views, and multiple open decks with expansive 270-360 degree views. There is no shortage of spaces to take in the majesty of the incredible world outside!
Hydraulic viewing platforms
In addition to onboard observation areas, the Greg Mortimer features two unique hydraulic viewing platforms, which fold out for unobstructed views of passing marine life and seabirds. These platforms were designed in conjunction with Greg Mortimer himself, and can be used during gentle ship cruises or when the ship is stationary when weather conditions allow.
Large, floor-to-ceiling windows
Glass atrium lounge
With huge windows and superb views to the front of the ship, the lounge split over two levels on the Sylvia Earle and the Douglas Mawson is the perfect place to sit with a warm drink and watch for wildlife or admire the impressive scenery.
Enjoy a selection of wildlife guidebooks available to read or borrow the binoculars and keep an eye out for whales!
Observation lounges
Communal meeting areas have always played a major role in fostering the warm camaraderie on board our ships. They are the heart of the expedition, where people meet to share tales from the day, swap photos, keep an eye out for wildlife and watch the sun go down.
Our panoramic observation lounges and the bars onboard are refined yet inviting places to gather, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views, and of course, friendly bartenders to shoot the breeze with.
