Climate Change Courses

Aurora Expeditions is proud to partner with UpSchool, joining esteemed organizations like the United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA), Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) and Canva in supporting climate change education.

UpSchool is an innovative Australian education platform providing free courses and resources to children and teachers worldwide. Used by over 1,000 teachers in 110 countries, it reaches approximately 30,000 students each week, including those in conflict-affected regions such as Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Ukraine.

Together, we’re bringing the magic of the polar regions to classrooms around the world through UpSchool’s latest projects, It Starts with You and The Power of One. These free online courses highlight the vital role the polar regions play in our planet’s health and empower students to make sustainable choices that benefit the global community.

At Aurora Expeditions, we believe in fostering a deeper connection to the remote regions we explore, creating ambassadors for their protection, and taking meaningful action to support sustainability. This partnership is just one of the many ways we’re working towards a better future for our planet.

It Starts with You

The course explores how the Arctic region plays a role in the lives of every human being on Earth and educates students on how everyday choices we make put pressure on the health of our planet. Children participating in the course are encouraged to design a plan to help contribute to positive environmental change.

The Power of One

This course is designed to teach students about the vital role of the ocean and its inhabitants in shaping our planet. Through a series of lessons covering weather, climate, wildlife, and history, recorded live from the Antarctic region, including the Falklands and South Georgia, students will gain a deeper understanding of the ocean’s significance and will learn how to make sustainable choices that benefit the ocean and the global community.
